By purchasing, renewing, or holding a Wellington Phoenix FC (“The Club”) Membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). A Membership entitles the holder (“Member”) to attend Wellington Phoenix regular season home matches only. It does not include entry to Finals Series fixtures, away matches, or other Club programmes (including the Football for All programme), unless purchased or held separately. These Terms are governed by New Zealand law, including the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, and the Privacy Act 2020. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right or remedy you have under that legislation, or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement (see clause 5).
1. ENTRY AND MEMBERSHIP CONDITIONS
1.1 Members must comply with the Club’s ticketing conditions, the relevant venue’s conditions of entry (Hnry Stadium(opens in a new tab), Porirua Park(opens in a new tab) and/or any other venue, as applicable to the match), the A-Leagues Terms of Admission(opens in a new tab) and Football Australia’s Spectator Code of Behaviour(opens in a new tab).
1.2 The Club may cancel or suspend a Membership at any time, without refund except to the extent required by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, where a Member breaches these Terms or engages in conduct that is, or is likely to be, prejudicial to the interests or reputation of the game, the Club, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL), Football Australia/New Zealand Football, or any of their sponsors.
1.3 The Club may decline any Membership application in its absolute discretion.
1.4 Where a member is found to have engaged in conduct unbecoming of a Member, the Club may consider a lesser resolution instead of cancellation. A Member may appeal a cancellation decision in writing to the Club within seven (7) days of receiving notice.
1.5 The Club reserves the right to change package details (including name, pricing, benefits, inclusions, venue, admission conditions, scheduling, and seating areas) at any time. Where a change is material and adverse and cannot reasonably be remedied, the Club will give affected Members reasonable notice and the option to cancel for a pro-rata refund of the affected, unused benefit. This clause does not limit a member’s rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
1.6 At Football Australia/APL-sanctioned matches or Club-supported functions, Members must comply with the venue’s policies on conduct and behaviour. Incident reports will be dealt with appropriately, and the Club may cancel a Membership immediately for a violation.
2. MEMBERSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS
2.1 Membership Types. The Club offers the following Membership types for the 2026/27 season. Except where stated otherwise, each type is subject to these Terms:
• Gold Membership: full-season access to Wellington Phoenix A-League Men regular season home matches located in Wellington, with the standard Membership benefits described in these Terms (including partner discounts, priority Finals Series access, and discounted tickets to home matches played in Christchurch).
• Silver Membership: full-season access to Wellington Phoenix A-League Men regular season home matches located in Wellington, at a lower price tier than Gold Membership, with the same standard Membership benefits.
• All-In Membership: full-season access to both Wellington Phoenix A-League Men and A-League Women regular season home matches located in Wellington, plus the standard Membership benefits described in these Terms.
• A-League Women Membership: full-season access to Wellington Phoenix A-League Women regular season home matches located in Wellington only.
• Supporter Membership: a non-ticketed Membership for supporters who are unable to regularly attend matches. It includes a double pass to one regular season home or away match of the Member’s choosing (selected in advance and subject to availability), a discount on additional match tickets purchased across the season, and the other non-ticketed Membership benefits described in these Terms (including partner discounts, Club news and updates, and voting rights for end-of-season awards). It does not, by itself, grant entry to any match. Any matches based in Christchurch are not eligible for selection.
• AU (Australian) Membership: a non-ticketed Membership for supporters based in Australia. It includes a double pass to one regular season home or away match of the Member’s choosing (selected in advance and subject to availability) but does not include a discount on additional match tickets. It does not, by itself, grant entry to any match. Any matches based in Christchurch are not eligible for selection.
• Football for All Membership: full-season access to both Wellington Phoenix A-League Men and A-League Women regular season home matches located in Wellington only. Football for All Members are given a physical card by the Club or one of its representatives; donating to the Football For All programme does not class you as a Football for All Member. Phoenix Lounge access is not included with this Membership.
2.2 It is a condition of all Memberships, and of admission to matches, that the holder:
• does not resell or transfer the Membership at a premium;
• does not use the Membership for advertising, promotional, or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions), or to enhance demand for other goods or services;
• does not bundle the Membership with other goods or services without the Club’s prior written consent (a breach may result in denial of entry and forfeiture of the Membership price, in addition to any other remedy, regardless of the holder’s knowledge of the breach); and
• acknowledges the Club may relocate a member’s seat where required by operational necessity or circumstances outside the Club’s control, with notice from the Membership team.
2.3 Membership Duration and Auto-Renewal
• A Membership commences on the date the Club accepts the application and continues, while payments are up to date, until cancelled or terminated.
• Auto-Renewal is opted in by default for Memberships paid by credit or eligible debit card, and will remain on unless a Member switches it off. This will be clearly and prominently disclosed to you, with the ability to opt-out before you complete your purchase, and viewable in your Member profile on the Membership portal. Unless a Member switches Auto-Renewal off, the Club is authorised to automatically renew the Membership each season and charge the nominated card the applicable fee.
• The Club will give notice of renewal by email at least fourteen (14) days before the rollover date, describing the equivalent package for the upcoming season and the applicable fee, and reminding the Member that Auto-Renewal is on and how to switch it off. It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure their email address is up to date with the Membership team.
• A Member may switch off Auto-Renewal, or request changes to their package, at any time (including at the time of purchase, during the season, or at any point before the rollover date) by: (i) logging into their Membership account and switching it off; or (ii) emailing members@wellingtonphoenix.com(opens in a new tab).
• Any Child/Junior Membership where the holder no longer meets the age criteria, or any Concession, University Student, or High School Student Membership where the holder no longer meets the eligibility criteria, will automatically move to the Adult rate at renewal. This can be changed by the Member before the renewal is finalised.
2.4 Eligibility Categories
• Child/Junior: up to and including 15 years of age as at 1 July 2026. Children under 4 years of age (at the time of the relevant match) attend free of charge provided they do not occupy a seat.
• Concession: available to super annuitants, veterans, and Community Services Card holders. Proof of eligibility must be presented on request at entry.
• University Student: available to university students holding a valid student ID, presented on request at entry.
• High School Student: available to high school students aged 16 and over holding a valid student ID, presented on request at entry.
2.5 Members must notify the Club of any change in circumstances, including changes to concession eligibility or contact details, that may affect their Membership.
2.6 Renewing Members have priority to retain their existing seat(s) where available for the 2026/27 season until the Club’s published renewal cut-off date. After that date, specific seats cannot be guaranteed.
2.7 Seating will be allocated in the following order: (a) renewing full-season Members; (b) renewing full-season Members requesting a seating change; (c) new full-season Memberships; (d) part-season Memberships. Members wishing to sit within the active supporters’ bay should select the Yellow Fever seating category (Aisles 20-21) at purchase.
2.8 All prices advertised on the Membership website, renewal forms, or other Club communications are inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise, and exclude any card payment or processing fee. Any surcharge will not exceed the reasonable cost of accepting that payment method and will be disclosed before payment, consistent with the Retail Payment System Act 2022. The Club may change Membership prices at any time; a price change takes effect for Memberships purchased or renewed after the change.
2.9 A Membership does not include entry to Finals Series fixtures; however where possible, Members will have priority booking rights to purchase tickets to those fixtures separately.
2.10 Subject to a Member’s rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986, a Member is not entitled to exchange their Membership or obtain a refund where: (a) a match is abandoned or cancelled after it has started, including due to weather; or (b) the time of a match, or the teams participating, changes after the Membership was purchased.
2.11 Subject to a Member’s rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986, the Club is not liable for loss or damage arising from a match or the A-Leagues competition being cancelled, postponed, or changed, and disclaims any common law duty of care to Members beyond what the law requires.
2.12 A refund request outside clause 2.10 or 2.11 must be made in writing to the Membership and Ticketing Manager at members@wellingtonphoenix.com(opens in a new tab). Making a request does not guarantee a refund. Where a full refund is approved, the Member may be required to return their Membership pack and card. The Club may issue a partial refund where the Member has already used the Membership to attend one or more matches. Nothing in this clause limits a Member’s rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (see clause 5).
2.13 Members must present their barcode, QR code, or Membership card at the gate to gain entry. Where a Supporter or AU Membership includes a double pass, the Member must select their match in advance and use the ticket provided separately to enter that match. If a Member does not have their card, the Membership team will be available on match day at the box office to assist until at least 45 minutes after kick-off; personal identification will be required to access a replacement ticket.
3. MEMBERSHIP PAYMENTS
3.1 Payment Methods. Memberships may be purchased by credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX) or any other payment method made available at checkout. Available methods may vary depending on whether payment is made in full or by instalments.
3.2 Instalment Plans. Instalment plans are available only for payments made by credit or debit card. If you choose to pay by instalments:
• you authorise Ticketek, on behalf of the Club, to securely store your nominated card details via its third-party payment gateway provider;
• you authorise Ticketek, on behalf of the Club, to process recurring payments against that card for the total membership amount, divided into instalments;
• payments may be processed as merchant-initiated recurring transactions;
• instalments will be processed on or around the dates notified to you at the time of purchase; and
• buy-now-pay-later services are not available for instalment plans unless expressly stated.
3.3 Updating Payment Details. Members must keep their nominated card details current and valid. If a card expires, is cancelled, or is replaced, the Member must update their details before the next scheduled instalment. Failure to do so may result in suspension of Membership entitlements. Details can be updated via the Membership portal or by contacting the Membership team.
3.4 Failed Payments. Members are responsible for ensuring their nominated payment details remain current, valid, and able to accept recurring transactions. If a scheduled payment is declined, cannot be processed, or is returned unpaid, the Club may attempt to reprocess it within a reasonable period and/or contact the Member for updated details. Membership entitlements, including barcode access and match entry, may be suspended while an amount remains unpaid. If payment remains outstanding after reasonable attempts have failed, the Club may cancel the Membership on reasonable notice. The Member remains liable for amounts accrued before cancellation.
3.5 Chargebacks. Members acknowledge that instalment and renewal payments are authorised recurring transactions, and agree to contact the Club to resolve any billing concern before initiating a chargeback with their card issuer. Membership access may be suspended during a dispute. If a chargeback is determined to be invalid, the Club may recover the outstanding amount and any associated costs, and may cancel a Membership without refund in cases of misuse or bad-faith disputes. Chargeback rights remain subject to applicable card scheme rules and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986.
3.6 Dishonour Fees. If a payment is declined, the Member is responsible for any fee charged by their card issuer. After the first failed payment, each successive failed payment will be subject to a $4.95 fee charged automatically to the Member's card.
3.7 Suspension or Cancellation for Non-Payment. The Club may suspend or cancel a Membership where two (2) or more scheduled instalments cannot be successfully processed, subject to clause 3.4.
3.8 Privacy and Security of Payment Information. Payment information is processed securely through the Club’s third-party payment gateway provider. The Club does not store raw card details, payment data is tokenised and managed in accordance with PCI-DSS security standards and the Club’s Privacy Policy(opens in a new tab).
4. PRIVACY AND DATA
4.1 The Club collects and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Privacy Policy. By purchasing a Membership, you consent to the Club collecting, using, and disclosing your personal information for purposes connected with your Membership, including communications, ticketing, and Membership administration.
4.2 The Club will only disclose a Member’s personal information to the Club’s sponsors, APL, or APL’s sponsors for their own marketing purposes, or contact a Member with promotional offers on behalf of those parties, where the Member has given express consent to do so (for example, by opting in at the time of purchase). This is not a condition of Membership, and consent can be withdrawn at any time free of charge, consistent with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Every commercial message sent under this clause will identify the sender and include a functional unsubscribe facility.
4.3 A copy of the Club’s Privacy Policy is available at wellingtonphoenix.com(opens in a new tab). To update your communication preferences or make a privacy enquiry, contact members@wellingtonphoenix.com(opens in a new tab).
5. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER NEW ZEALAND LAW
5.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies, or purports to exclude, restrict, or modify, any right or remedy a Member has under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other legislation, where it would be unlawful to do so. Where these Terms are inconsistent with such legislation, the legislation prevails to the extent of the inconsistency.
6. COMPLAINTS
6.1 If a Member has a complaint about their Membership, they should first contact the Club at members@wellingtonphoenix.com(opens in a new tab). If the matter is not resolved, Members can seek free, independent advice from Consumer Protection(opens in a new tab) or the Commerce Commission(opens in a new tab), or pursue a claim through the Disputes Tribunal.
7. GOVERNING LAW
7.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
8. GENERAL
8.1 The Club may amend these Terms at any time. Amendments take effect from the date of publication on the Club’s website, and the Club will take reasonable steps to notify Members of any change that materially affects their Membership.
